Books, Gifts, Lap Cats and More! Horton's Books & Gifts offers vintage charm for modern lifestyles - a place to read, rest and relax away from the hectic pace of the world. Founded in 1891 by N.A. Horton, Horton's Books & Gifts has been a part of the Carrollton, Georgia community for over a century. Originally a source for school textbooks, the store later expanded to include furniture, sewing machines, china, caskets and coffins. In addition to being a bookseller, Mr. Horton was also Carrollton’s local undertaker. He believed in offering the community a full-service store, a tradition that continues today – although we did stop selling caskets a few years ago.
