Sign Retirement Ceremony: Our vinyl sign has survived WIND, snow, WIND, rain/sleet, WIND, sun, WIND, but it is now ready to be replaced by a new one. On Indie Bookstore Day at 9:45 am we will take it down and install the new one. Any time during the day, come put your mark on the old sign: put your signature or a favorite book title or a phrase about Storybook Cove! We will be sure to post pictures throughout the day!

Best of Books is celebrating 40 years in Edmond in 2024 and has big plans for Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 27. Join BoB from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm for special sales, storytimes, door prizes and author signings all day long!
Kick off the day with Edmond Mayor Darrell Davis for a Busy, Busy Town by Richard Scarry Storytime at 11:00 am including a scavenger hunt for little readers.
Bring the big kids from noon to 1:30 pm as BoB spotlights middle grade books with an early release signing for Brenda Maier’s new graphic novel Penguin and Panda; reserve yours ahead of the event at the link below or pick one up during the signing. BoB will also be visited by the popular character “Dog Man” in costume for photos and a chance to win a Dog Man prize from noon to 1:00 p.m.
Romance readers won’t want to miss our signing with Oklahoma author Allison Ashley from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Ashley’s novels, Would You Rather and The Roommate Pact will be available to purchase at the event or reserve yours now at the link below.

Edmond’s oldest bookstore will also have plenty of chances to win just for visiting and supporting our indie bookstore! Visitors will receive a door prize ticket for a chance to win a prize bundle with books and more.
BoB will also be participating in the Central Oklahoma Bookstore Trail with 15 other Indie Bookstores in the metro area. Pick up a trail card from a participating bookstore to collect stamps from each store you visit between Friday, April 26, and Sunday, April 28. Collect four stamps in a row to be entered to win a prize bundle with goodies from participating bookstores!

Pflugerville’s The Book Burrow To Participate In Independent Bookstore Day & The Austin Texas Book Trail, April 27
(Pflugerville, TX) – In addition to the national Indie Bookstore Day event, local organizers have created the Austin TX Book Trail, a bookstore crawl across Austin and its surrounding towns, featuring other local staples such as Book People, Austin Books and Comics, South Congress Books, and more — in addition to The Book Burrow.
The Book Burrow is offering 10% off for anyone who comes into the store as part of the bookstore crawl and plans to have a photo booth, snacks, and other special events and activities to celebrate Indie Bookstore Day and the Austin TX Book Trail.
The events also happen to fall on the same day as Slice of Pflugerville, an art and food festival in downtown Pflugerville, which should collectively make Pflugerville an exciting place to be on April 27.
